4. Legal Bases for Processing
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing, we generally rely on one or more of the following bases:
- Performance of a contract, such as when we process your information to provide the Service you requested.
- Legitimate interests, such as keeping the Service secure, moderating content, preventing abuse, improving features, and communicating with users.
- Consent, where required by law, such as for certain permissions, cookies, or tracking-related activities.
- Compliance with legal obligations, such as retention, reporting, law enforcement cooperation, and dispute handling.
- Protection of vital interests or the public interest, where permitted by law.
5. How We Share Personal Information
We do not sell personal information in the ordinary sense of exchanging personal information for money. We may share personal information in the following circumstances:
- With service providers and processors that host, secure, support, analyze, or operate the Service on our behalf, subject to appropriate contractual and confidentiality obligations.
- With authentication, map, geolocation, infrastructure, analytics, crash-reporting, moderation, customer-support, payment, or communication partners, to the extent needed to provide the Service or support our operations.
- With other users and the public when you submit content intended for publication, such as ratings, reviews, comments, profile display information, or other user-generated content.
- With law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other third parties when we believe disclosure is required by law or is necessary to protect the safety, rights, property, or security of users, Reel Review, or others.
- In connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, subject to applicable confidentiality and notice requirements.
- With your consent or at your direction, including when you choose to connect or interact with third-party services.
Because Reel Review includes user-generated content, information you choose to make public may be visible to other users, businesses, and the general public. Please avoid posting personal information that you do not want others to see.
6. Public Content, Moderation, Reporting, and Blocking
If you submit reviews, ratings, comments, reports, or other user-generated content, we may process that information to operate moderation tools and trust-and-safety features, including:
- reviewing reported or flagged content;
- detecting harassment, spam, fraud, coordinated manipulation, or policy violations;
- allowing users to report objectionable content or block abusive users;
- removing content, limiting visibility, restricting accounts, or taking other enforcement action; and
- keeping records relevant to moderation decisions, appeals, legal claims, and safety investigations.
Moderation-related information may include reports submitted by users, internal notes, timestamps, evidence associated with a report, and records of actions taken.
7. Location Data
Reel Review may request access to your device location to help you find nearby places, improve search relevance, and support location-based features. You may allow or deny location permissions through your device settings. If you deny location access, some features may be limited, but you may still be able to search manually for places or browse location data without sharing your current location.
8. Advertising, Analytics, and Tracking
We may use analytics, measurement, consent, or advertising technologies to understand app performance, prevent abuse, and support the Service. The technologies used may differ by version, region, device, or business model. Where applicable law or platform rules require consent or permission for tracking, personalized advertising, or access to device-level advertising identifiers, we will request the required permission before collecting or using such data for those purposes. If certain advertising or measurement features are not enabled in your version of the Service, we will not use your personal information for those purposes unless and until the necessary disclosures and permissions are provided.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and prevent abuse. Account and profile information are generally retained while your account remains active. Reviews, ratings, comments, reports, moderation records, and related safety logs may be retained for moderation integrity, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Technical logs, diagnostic data, and security records may be retained for limited periods appropriate to the purpose for which they were collected. When an account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize personal information within a reasonable period, unless retention is required or permitted by law. Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the information, the sensitivity of the data, legal requirements, and operational needs.
10. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account through the in-app account deletion flow or any direct deletion method we make available. When your account is deleted, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize your personal information, subject to our legal, security, fraud-prevention, recordkeeping, and dispute-resolution obligations. Some content may be retained in anonymized form where operationally necessary and permitted by law.
11. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- access, correct, or update your personal information;
- request deletion of your account or certain personal information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- request a copy of certain personal information in a portable format;

12. International Transfers
Reel Review may store or process personal information in countries other than the country in which you reside, including where our hosting, support, moderation, infrastructure, or analytics providers operate. Where required by law, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
13. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us in violation of applicable law, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
15. Third-Party Services
The Service may include links to, or integrations with, third-party services such as sign-in providers, mapping tools, place-data providers, support tools, or other external resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies before using their services.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
